Scam Check Service
Call before clicking a suspicious link. We’ll help you review the message, understand warning signs, and discuss a sensible next step. Response timing depends on availability; confirm support hours with Matthew. While you wait, leave the link unopened and avoid sharing personal information.
Understand suspicious messages
Work through emails, texts, and unfamiliar requests together. Learn to recognize common scam tactics and the warning signs worth questioning. For more guidance, read the FTC’s advice on how to avoid a scam.
Strengthen account security
Review account settings, passwords, extra sign-in protection, and software updates, with an explanation of what each change does.
Identity protection guidance
Understand ways to safeguard personal information, review privacy settings, and recognize requests that could put your identity or accounts at risk.
Coaching for individuals and families
Virtual scam-safety coaching, shaped around you.
Attend on your own or as a family group of up to three participants. Family members can join from different households. Seniors, caregivers, and adults of different experience levels are welcome.
Learn to pause, verify, and choose your next step.
The “5-Second Pause” is a reminder to stop before responding—not a promise that a request can be verified in five seconds. Take the time needed to check through a trusted contact method and ask for a second opinion.
Practice recognizing imposter and tech-support scams, Medicare and insurance scams, bank-fraud attempts, romance and investment scams, family-emergency requests, and phishing emails and texts. Work on safer passwords, account access, online shopping, and the steps to take when a message seems suspicious.
These programs provide education, guided practice, and practical resources. No coaching or support service can guarantee protection from scams or fraud.
